I did this piece a little back for Tor . "Foundation", by Ann Aguirre, is a first-love story between two boys but they are both stuck in bunkers hiding out from a zombie-like epidemic. You can read the story here.
First year after RISD, I was a bit worry that I would be stuck drawing animals and kids forever, as most AD hire illustrators for what is in their portfolio. So I really have to thank the courageous Irene Gallo for seeing my dark-side and letting me “attack” zombies.

Shae’s photographic practice uses painted photography, a technique employed to
add colour to photographs before colour processing was invented. In a world where images can be digitally manipulated, finding a photographer’s practice that explores alternative methods is rare and really refreshing. Her painted photographs seem mythical, situating models in an eerie and beautiful wilderness.
